Welcome to Placencia, the most beautiful and unique place on earth!

Placencia is a small fishing village at the southern end of the Placencia Peninsula. The beautiful sandy beach along the peninsula stretches over 16 miles. The Caribbean sea is to the east and the magnificint Placencia lagoon lies to west looking across to the mainland.

Placencia is very centrally located for adventures at sea or inland. There are literally hundreds of Cayes to swim and sail, fish or dive at, or you can head inland to experience the adventure of the beautiful Belize interior. The activities are endless and excursions available are so many.

The snorkeling and scuba diving is great in Placencia! Belize has the second largest reef in the world, but without all the dangers of the Barrier Reef in Australia. The reef off the coast of Placencia is still in tact and is some of the best diving in the entire world!

The food in Placencia is great! Purchase fresh fruits and veggies in the many markets and cook at home, or eat out at the many quality restaurants. The food is top notch! The water is pure and great to drink also, no need to buy water bottle after water bottle.

One of the best things about Belize and especially Placencia is the people. The diversed and interesting local culture is the thing that kept me coming back for all these years and eventually investing in the country. The people are so relaxed and really know how to enjoy the simple things in life that some of us have forgotten about. To strive for happiness is not far away, just 2 hours from the mainland USA!!

Placencia has the longest sidewalk in the world meanduring through the charming village along the seaside. (It’s even in the Guinness Book of World Records!) Here you can stroll amongst the many shops and restaurants while enjoying the view and breeze of the beautiful sea. Every Feburary is the fun and interesting sidewalk festival where you can find wonderful local artwork along with other artists from anywhere in the world! The northern portion of Placencia includes the Garifuna village of Seine Bight, is less densely populated and has many of the more expensive resorts. The water is clean and clear; the trade winds gentle and cooling. There are few sights more calming to the spirit than a Belizean sunset on a deserted Placencia Peninsula beach.
